Just returned from assisting at Raphael's meeting tonight. We passed a Brother to the second degree. A good night was had by all. Truly a Raphael/Maranoa night. IG, SW, JS and Chaplain were Maranoa members.

A keen candidate. A keen new master of Raphael to take on a 2nd degree as his first meeting in the chair and after returning from a touring holiday only a few days ago.

I'd like to say I nailed the WT's but I stumbled at the final hurdle when all the work was done, but still I think I did them alright.

And I got to reacquaint wit the Dep G Sec, who was JD for the night.

Only downside to the evening is that it was a late night what with a ballot for a candidate and other general business. So I left before the festive board to get home at 10:30 (thank the GAOTU that I only live three minutes from the centre) . (Early morning starts to 9 hour working days are a pain.)

Charles a late night 1030pm this is a come thing on degree nights it is common for me to get out of lodge and go to festive board and then help pack the lodge away and leave by 1130pm then i have about 45min drive home then i get up for work by 6am the next day this has been common for many year that is why i say if you have to work the next day find a lodge on a weekend.

but that aside i hope it was a good night and is Wor Bro Rue rue (spelling not sure) the master of raphael at the moment.

Which is why why I am glad my Lodge meets on a Saturday, but when my Brothers from our sister lodge call on me to help out I don't say "No, I have to work the next day", I turn up, do my best and then reluctantly leave before the festive board.

No Kim isn't Master, he'd be an old hand if he was. That's why I said the new Master was brave taking his first meeting with a second degree when he could have delayed the degree. He, like me, was a Master Mason before this year's installation.

yes it was a great night...I really enjoyed being back for some degree work in Roma ,
and some floor work which I hadn't done for a while
