Private Message Notification 2 Years, 4 Months ago
There's a possibilty some people may be getting PMs and not knowing it. Just to make sure everyone is getting some kind of notification when they receive a PM, I'd like to ask you all to do the following:

  1. Up the top of the forum is a row of tabs. Click on the one that says "My profile"

  2. On the left hand side of your profile page, you will see three boxes. The bottom one is all about Private Messaging. In that box, click "Inbox"

  3. At the bottom of your "Inbox" page, you will see "Settings". Please click on that.

Here you can choose whether to:

  1. Receive an email notification whenever a new private message lands in your inbox

  2. Only receive an email notification of new PMs if you aren't online

  3. Never receive email notifications when you get PMs

You can also tick a box which generates a pop up when you get a new PM.

Around two weeks ago, option 1. was set as the default setting for new users. However, theres a chance users who signed up prior to this may not have any form of notification selected. I've yet to see the pop up notification work, so I highly recommend selecting the first box labeled "E-mail notification of new messages".

Thanks.

God even more depressing when I go into the PM thinking WOW I am going to have 1000 messages....alas none....Just kidding - it was automatically on that section when I logged in.

I'm not sure if its just hotmail acting up or something wrong on the ausfm side of things, but all my PM notification emails go straight to my junk folder. It doesn't seem to matter how many times I flag it as not being junk.

The odds are pretty good that its hotmail's problem, but I just thought I should check. I'm sure at one point I had PM notifications landing in my inbox.

Try adding the email that ausfm sends it from as one of your contacts in Hotmail... This "should" fix the problem.
